$8,000 First Time Home Buyer Tax Credit & $6,500 existing Home Owner Tax credit
In the stimulus plan signed on February 17, 2009, the government is now giving a tax credit to first-time home buyers.
The government has defined a first-time home buyer as someone who has not owned a primary residence in the last three years.
